The purpose of this program is to improve the knowledge and skills of persons who are directly or indirectly involved in importing and exporting goods, the transport and logistics involved in this process or who are planning to enter the importing and exporting field.

Focused at middle management in the import and export industries as well as freight transport operators, this program has been developed to provide learners who are being introduced to the maritime industry for the first time with a solid foundation of the skills required in the maritime workplace. The skills, values, attitudes and knowledge reflected in the program are building blocks that will prepare the learner for progression along the industry’s learning ladder of registered qualifications. Successful completion of this qualification ensures learner a development pathway into a full range of learning fields related to international trade, freight forwarding, customs compliance, logistics and supply chain management.
